For governments to manage risk, budget responsibly, successfully implement asset management plans, and make effective and efficient use of resources, it is essential to have a diversity of opinion at the table. This means Finance, as well as Planning, Engineering, and other departments should in the planning process. However, departmental silos, limited resources, and other factors often lead to a lack of diversity.
This session will discuss the importance of having diversity of opinion in government – and in particular, of having Finance at the table – and will share practical stories of how to achieve better outcomes.
