Our Asset Management team wins a 2017 Consulting Engineers of Alberta Award
The Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) held their annual awards gala last Friday night (Feb. 24) in Edmonton. Our very own Asset Management team earned an Award of Merit with their “Building Community Resilience Through Asset Management – A Handbook and Toolkit for Alberta Municipalities” project in a very competitive category.
Here is a quick description of the project from the CEA website:
The Town of Elk Point and the Village of Boyle in partnership with Consulting Engineers of Alberta and Alberta Municipal affairs, chose Urban Systems through a Qualifications Based Selection to develop an Asset Management Handbook and Toolkit for Alberta’s small to mid-sized municipalities. The process included a comprehensive desktop review of all Asset Management resources and extensive consultation with municipalities to better understand their challenges. The outcome forms part of Alberta’s approach to Asset Management.
Urban Systems prepared digital databases and Asset Replacement Forecasts for partner municipalities to give them an overview of their infrastructure and approximate timing of major replacements.
Our Asset Management team; Christina Hopkins, Shannon Qualie, Golnaz Azimi and Laura Cresswell attended the CEA ceremony and accepted the award. We would also recognize the contributions of Jody Rechenmacher and John Weninger who were also a part of the project team but were unable to attend the CEA Awards ceremony.
Congratulations to the entire team!
