Alberta Central East (ACE) Regional Water System

Project Description

We have been working with the Communities within the Counties of Vermilion River, Two Hills and Minburn since 2005 to help them obtain a sustainable supply of drinking water. Since the fall of 2013, 9 communities have been receiving drinking water from the recently constructed ACE water system. The system is owned and operated by the Alberta Central East (ACE) Water Corporation which is owned by 13 member municipalities.

Building on the commitment of the 13 municipalities involved (the Counties of Minburn, Two Hills and Vermilion River, the Towns of Two Hills and Vermilion, and the Villages of Dewberry, Innisfree, Kitscoty, Mannville, Marwayne, Myrnam, Paradise Valley, and Willingdon), Urban has undertaken feasibility studies, business case and financial analyses, grant applications, public consultation, steering committee and governance facilitation, detailed engineering , construction inspection and commissioning.

The ACE Regional water system will eventually consist of over 350 km of water main and will serve over 18 communities within the three counties.
