Urban Systems was retained by TransLink to prepare recently declared surplus properties in Southeast False Creek (SEFC) for disposition and market listing. The properties are located in the eastern part of the SEFC neighbourhood in the City of Vancouver, adjacent to the mixed-use Olympic Village development. Before the development of the Olympic Village, TransLink and nearby Science World had an agreement in which the land was utilized for short-term parking purposes. This agreement has since expired and the site is now available for disposition and future development.
The lands are to be re-zoned to a comprehensive land use in order to permit mixed-use building heights up to 12 storeys. Urban Systems assessed the development potential through a review of primary land use characteristics and development criteria, analysis of site conditions, and assessments of road, water, sanitary, sewer, and utility servicing considerations.
