We prepared a long-term Transit Strategy for the Fraser Valley Regional District. The year and a half process included extensive oversight and involvement from the Regional District Board of Directors, TransLink, BC Transit and the Ministry of Transportation in addition to elected and non-elected representatives from each of the local area municipalities. The process also included extensive social research as well as public involvement through advisory committee workshops and meetings as well as other public forums. As the Fraser Valley includes some of the fastest growing municipalities of the Lower Mainland that operates under BC Transit’s municipal systems program, the regional Transit Strategy provided the vision for creating stronger local, regional and inter-regional transit systems that would serve the long-term aspirations for the community and outlined a process for evolving the governance and funding model.
