Urban Systems Ltd. provided environmental services to the Kamloops Airport Authority Society for the Kamloops airport expansion project. The multi-phased project included detailed environmental studies, review of the project details with senior government agencies, coordination of a formal environmental assessment to meet the requirements of both the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and the BC Environmental Assessment Act, communication and liaison with the client, the design engineers, numerous levels of government (municipal, provincial and federal), adjacent landowners, and the engagement and coordination of several sub-consultant experts. Sub-consultants included professional archaeologists, noise exposure specialists, geotechnical engineers, emission and dispersion modeling experts, and species at risk specialists. The project also included public engagement, First Nations consultation and environmental monitoring and follow-up.
