The City of Kelowna has a vision for a sustainable future as described in the recently updated Official Community Plan (OCP) 2030. The City understands that a sustainable city is designed to create a balance between environmental protection, economic growth, social development and cultural vibrancy.
Working with Urban Systems, the City of Kelowna developed The Mill Creek Corridor – Infrastructure Impact Management Plan. This plan assessed the environmental impacts of proposed civic infrastructure projects, provided a strategy to avoid or mitigate any adverse impacts and identified possible measures to enhance the environmental condition of the Mill Creek system.
To assist the City with this plan, Urban Systems was retained to develop a coordinated plan that to improve the condition of the entire creek corridor within City limits by considering the compensation and mitigation requirements of all anticipated infrastructure projects individually and cumulatively.
