Saddle Lake Highest & Best Use Study

Project Description

The Land Economics Team produced a Highest and Best Use Study for the Saddle Lake First Nation in support of broader engineering and planning efforts currently underway. The study examined the viability of a number of uses, including casino, gas station / truck stop, highway commercial / fast food, hotel, supermarket, building supplies / hardware store, mini-storage, as well as light industrial development. The study also included a demographic review of the First Nation and the surrounding communities, including population growth and retail spending characteristics. The study culminated with recommendations for the three separate sites that were under consideration.
