Approximately 40 km of new, 4-lane, 80 km/h expressway along the south side of the Fraser River from Deltaport Way in southwest Delta to 176th Street (Hwy 15) in Surrey, with connections to High¬ways 1, 15, 17, 91, 99, and TransLink’s Golden Ears Bridge. The route will take a significant step towards improving Metro Vancouver’s major road network. It will benefit commuters, the commercial trucking industry and tourism by connecting primary gate¬way facilities and facilitating access to the border crossings, the Tsawwassen terry terminal and the BC Interior. SFPR will improve the efficiency of goods movement while improving the overall network efficiency by reducing the volume of commercial vehicles on municipal roads through Surrey and Delta.
As part of the Stantec-led Design Team, Urban Systems was responsible for the design of Segments 3, 4 & 5, comprising approximately 14 km from 68th Street in Delta to Elevator Road in Surrey.
