PWABC Conference and Trade Show Presentation – Refining Asset Management from the Field – Wade Turner
This year the Public Works Association of British Columbia (PWABC) is holding their technical conference and trade show at Sun Peaks. Wade Turner is a Senior Engineering Tech./GIS Coordinator who works from our Kamloops office. He will presenting alongside Dan Erickson of Truvian Labs and Pat Miller from Sun Peaks Utilities. Their presentation is called, “Refining Assest Management from the Field”, they will be speaking on September 20th at 3 PM.
Sun Peaks Utilities has been taking a practice approach to Asset Management. Over the past two years they have established a geographic inventory of their existing infrastructure and completed a high level valuation based on current replacement cost.
Working with their detailed inventory and valuation, Sun Peaks Utilities staff are actively tracking inspections, maintenance and problems such as failures to help refine their Asset Management Program from the field. Field staff are using mobile devices to capture and share this information with the management team and engineering consultants, enabling them to identify and address issues as they occur. This same information is also being used to refine their Asset Management Program and inform and adjust renewal efforts.
