2 2016 ACEC BC Awards for Urban Systems
The 27th annual ACEC BC Awards for Engineering Excellence was held last Saturday night, April 9th, at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The awards honour the innovation and technical excellence of Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of British Columbia (ACEC-BC) member firms. It was a great evening for Urban Systems as we were recognized with two awards.
An Award of Excellence was given for our involvement with the Sechelt Water Resource Centre upgrade. To learn more about this project visit our blog post where we featured the project. The technical excellence and innovative aspects of this project derived in large measure by continuous involvement of Urban Systems’ staff in the project. In particular, design-build leaders Chris Town, P.Eng. and Don Nash, P.Eng., process designers Jeremy Clowes, P.Eng. and Sean Dodd, AScT, stormwater engineer Cameron Gatey, P.Eng., landscape architect Shasta McCoy, BCSLA, and construction and commissioning by Matt Smith, P.Eng.
We were also recognized with an Award of Merit for our work on the Fort St. John micro-hydro project. The project team included Eric Sears, Project Engineer, Chantal Richard, Project Engineer, John Kenny, Environmental and Sustainable Energy Specialist, Luke Hamilton, Civil Technologist, Nathan Johnson, Engineering Technologist and Brian Hobbs, Senior Project Engineer.
