We work with a number of First Nation communities to develop community energy plans that assess demand-side management opportunities and explore the feasibility of clean energy projects. We help them understand how clean energy projects, such as district energy systems, small hydropower systems, or wind and solar power, can spur short and long term economic development as well as community well-being.
We have brought our significant expertise in supporting community-based energy sustainability initiatives and greenhouse gas reduction strategies to First Nation communities across Western Canada. We help them transition to ever-evolving energy markets, reduce greenhouse gas emissions cost-effectively while identifying—and pursuing–opportunities for new revenue streams. Our work also serves to maximize the longevity of core assets while building corporate and community capacity in energy and emissions planning and action.
