This study completed in partnership with the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, the City of Kamloops, and the Insurance Corporation of BC investigated the current and future performance of the key highways and their interface with the local road network in and around the City of Kamloops. This included the review of over 13.5 km of Highway 1 (Trans-Canada Highway) and 7 urban interchange areas. The project involved the development of future forecast scenarios using the regional EMME travel demand model and micro-simulation models of freeway/interchange areas using Paramics. Short and long term improvement options were developed and evaluated at a conceptual level.
