Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) has significant plans to grow and develop their community in the future. An integrated rainwater management plan (IRMP) can assist by providing a strategy to allow development to proceed while achieving the drainage, environmental and liveability values of the community.
A multi-disciplinary team consisting of water resources, land use, environmental, geotechnical, and hydrogeological expertise was brought together to assess the existing drainage, environmental and land use characteristics of the TFN lands.
Rainwater management strategies were developed and assessed for their ability to meet the goals and objectives of the project, as well as for their effectiveness under future development scenarios in the community.
