Brian will also be part of a pecha kucha session on “How and Why to Create a Bicycle Account”, alongside Katherine Glowacz from the City of Calgary.
Throughout the conference Brian will be providing updates from Twitter. You can follow him @pattersonbri
Sarah is also a Transportation Planner at Urban Systems and will be presenting “What’s hills got to do with it?, which focuses on a recent study that provides a better understanding of the relationships between the perceived presence of hills and walking frequency. The study looked at perceived walking frequencies and the perception of hills in residents of the City of North Vancouver. Based on these results, hills were found to have a relationship with walking frequency among certain groups of residents, including individuals over the age of 55, and those with physical disabilities. However, convenience, time constraints, and distance had a stronger relationship with how often respondents walk.
Sarah will be documenting her week in Pittsburgh online by using Instagram, you can follow her at @sarah_farrah
