Urban Systems Named a 2019 Best Workplace™ for Women
Urban Systems was recently honoured as a Top 50 2019 Best Workplace™ for Women in Canada by the Great Place to Work Institute.
Company leader Steven Frith says this achievement is a special one.
“We exist to serve communities, and this includes all people at all times, without exception. And this of course includes women.”
“At a recent business meeting following our AGM, we noted that more than half of those leading the session were women from our team. They were not chosen because they were women, they were chosen for other reasons and ¬happen to be women. We think this is better. When Urban Systems is at its best, it affords understanding and opportunity to people from all walks of life, experience and affiliations. We’re working to continue to learn and grow on this front, but it is good to know we are recognized and on the right track.”
To be eligible for this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work Certified™ in the past year, have a minimum of 15 female employees, and have at least 90% of employees agree that their workplace is safe and people are treated fairly regardless of their gender. The best companies are determined based on survey scores from female respondents, as well as by their programs and practices that promote fair treatment and advancement of women.
Urban Systems was founded in 1975. We’re privately-owned and have been recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada 13 times since 2006.
