World Town Planning Day
On November 8, World Town Planning Day invites communities worldwide to reflect on the impact of thoughtful urban planning in creating spaces where people don’t just live but truly thrive. The day emphasizes how intentional design can foster healthier, more connected communities that meet today’s needs while preserving their unique identities. Masset, a remote village on the northern tip of Haida Gwaii, is one such community embracing these principles. For over four decades, its streets and infrastructure have remained largely unchanged, capturing both the charm and the challenges of life in one of the province’s most remote corners.
