BRIDGING THE CAPACITY GAP

The Rural Municipality of Vanscoy had gaps in its planning capacity. Urban Systems stepped in as in-house planning support, drawing on team members with a deep understanding of official community plans and zoning bylaws. The team advises the RM on development applications and rezoning, and helps chart a path forward for the community's growth. From the start, the work has kept an eye on the long term. Alongside day-to-day support, Urban Systems has helped build capacity among existing staff and facilitated the recruitment and selection of a permanent planner for the municipality.
