Town of Golden

Golden Pedestrian Promenade

The Town of Golden as part of the plan to redevelop the area between the historic downtown and the Kicking Horse River, teamed up with Urban in 2019 to come up with a landscape design that related to the Dike Improvement project located adjacent to the Kicking Horse River. The site located between Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge and 100th Avenue N bridge is a space that extends the existing Spirit Square’s pedestrian feel behind the buildings on 9th Avenue N. The design incorporates overhead structures that create a ‘gateway’ feeling into the space and incorporates familiar characteristics of existing themed elements within the Town. The extension in this area will be used by Town locals and tourists alike as Spirit Square is busy with markets and festivals year-round. It’s anticipated that the project completed in early summer 2021.
