Quesnel Waterfront Plan

Quesnel's core is shaped by its rivers and creeks, but the community has long been known as a good place to drive through rather than a place to stop. The Quesnel Waterfront Plan aims to change that. The plan covers eight kilometres of waterfront in the community's core and builds on the Official Community Plan, which identified the chance to improve public access to the water and create more places for people along it. It lays out a vision for the riverfront based on realistic economic development opportunities. Ideas include boutique shopping, patio dining, and river recreation, set alongside the natural landscape, First Nations context, and post-contact history. Together, these could draw visitors and new development and give residents even more reason to be proud to call Quesnel home.
