We helped the Province of British Columbia develop the Northeast Water Strategy to both improve coordination among the various agencies that deal with water in the region, and to create policies that will improve decision making around water. We facilitated the process, which included workshops with five ministries and a Provincial Commission, to develop five objectives and 12 strategies that will lead to more effective government service delivery.
As lead consultant on the project, we are still helping the province, First Nations and local governments in the region coordinate water governance and management. In 2015, we will establish a water working group to implement the strategy. The working group will include First Nations representatives and municipal, provincial and federal officials.
