City of Kamloops
Tournament Capital Ranch Softball Facility
In 2007, the City of Kamloops, Kamloops Indian Band, and the Province of BC arrived at a unique agreement involving the former provincial Kamloops Rayleigh Correctional Centre lands. This arrangement supported the potential development of RV camping, recreation and agricultural uses at the site. The plan incorporates ten slow-pitch diamonds, three rugby pitches in combination with a tournament centre complex, a rugby clubhouse, a day-use park, pedestrian and equestrian trail networks, servicing and access improvements. Riparian protection, a reflection of the agricultural character of the site and consideration of future development of other uses on the site are important components of the plan.
