Kin Park's Multi-Phase Revitalization

Kin Park is a 15-hectare community park in Fort St. John. In 2019, the City engaged Urban Systems to prepare a concept plan that could guide the park's revitalization into a true community hub, shaped through open houses, focus groups, and online surveys. Detailed design and construction administration followed across multiple phases. The first phase brought a boarded ice rink and pickleball court, a multi-use rink with catenary lighting, an architect-designed pavilion with a gas fire feature, paved trails, natural play and fitness pods, and a batting cage. A later phase added a new playground, pump track, parking lot, and a loop trail and bridge connecting a new stormwater management area. Construction wrapped in 2024, giving Fort St. John a fully reimagined park built around what its community asked for.
