Reid Street Revitalization

Urban Systems was engaged by the City of Quesnel to assist with the planning, design and public engagement for infrastructure renewal and revitalization of their Downtown high street: Reid Street. Our team worked closely with staff to craft engagements that introduced innovative urban design precedents, invited input from diverse stakeholders and identified areas of consensus among participants. Building on community priorities, a new branding strategy and best practices in urban design, our team developed design guidelines and a downtown revitalization plan that reflects the community's vision of a street that is an: economically vibrant, four-season destination for shopping, dining and events. Urban Systems advanced the Downtown Revitalization concept through detailed design and tendering and provided contract administration and quality assurance services during the construction phase. The project was completed in 2018.
